First and foremost, the mask is enriched with superoxide dismutase (shortened SOD), which is the most powerful antioxidant. It is found naturally in our skin, where it protects against oxidative attacks. It recreates the natural antioxidant symmetry in the outer layers of the skin, and assists to slow the process of aging in the skin. To prevent age-related processes, the skin must be infused with SOD, since the production, and thereby the amount of SOD, drops considerably with age. Particularly by the influence of the sun and by regular aging, the amount of SOD is gradually drained in the outer layers of the skin (stratum corneum and epidermis).
Furthermore, the mask contains an extremely powerful anti-wrinkle-peptide – a molecular messenger – which strengthens the synthesis of the essential basic components of the skin, minimizing the wrinkles and fine lines.
The extreme peptide stimulates the synthesis of ECM (the extra cellular matrix) molecules. More specifically, the peptide affects the synthesis of six especially important elements in the matrix of the skin, and in the DEJ (basal lamina):
1) Collagen I – the most common type of collagen in the dermis.
2) Collagen III – also known as ’the collagen of youth’, which
is generated by young fibroblasts.
3) Collagen IV – anchors proteins in the basal lamina.
4) Heat shock protein 47 (shor tened HSP47) – an essential accompanying protein, necessary for the maturing and stabilizing of the collagen types I-V, and for other components of the skin matrix. It functions as a facilitator, ensuring that the most crucial parts in the ECM occur with
the highest possible potential.
5) Laminin 5 – a vital component in the chemical structure of the DEJ.
6) Hyaluronic acid – the utmost significant moisture-binding molecule in the skin.
As a result, the extreme peptide has a prevailing lifting effect on the skin. It reduces the volume and depths of wrinkles, making them visibly smoother. It also secures an ideal structure of the skin cells, thanks to the improved synthesis of the accompanying protein HSP47.
Biological active perfection peptides have been added to the mask. They reactivate the natural peeling process in the skin, just as it occurs while the skin is young. This naturally occurring peeling process, gradually slows with age and becomes irregular, which cause the barrier of the skin to thin and weaken. Specifically, the perfection peptides break the bonds between the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, thereby creating a natural peeling effect.
Furthermore, it prevents appearances of impurities, unevenness, and early signs of aging of the skin. The perfection peptides are vectorized to touch, and affect the outer layer of stratum corneum (the outer layer of the skin, the horny layer), where the process of peeling occurs. To attain a fresh-looking and dynamic skin, they speed up the renewal of the skin cells. With intensity, they hydrate and refine the texture of the skin, thus reducing the depth of wrinkles. Thereby, the perfection peptides equalize the peeling process by preventing attachment of the corneodesmosomes to the outermost layer of stratum corneum. As a consequence, the connection between the corneocytes (horn cells) is loosened and they are peeled off naturally. The skin becomes even and stunningly radiant.
The epidermis is the first layer of the defense of the skin, and it protects against impacts from the surrounding environment, and is supported by the extra cellular matrix (ECM) in the underlying dermis. Epidermis and dermis are connected through the basal lamina, which is formed by a number of certain glycoproteins and proteoglycans as the components perlecan, nidogen 1, and nidogen 2. An intact skin barrier is dependent on an intact basal lamina, which will anchor and support it. As the central molecules in the basal lamina (BL), nidogen 1 and nidogen 2 are vital, since they are both able to induce and accelerate the formation of the BL, including its binding structure (molecular bridges). The nidogens also function as constant stabilizers of the interactions of molecules, which are particularly significant for the rebuilding of the BL. They have a high resilience against proteases (protein degrading enzymes), including metalloproteases, meprin alpha, and meprin beta, and not least cathepsin S, which breaks ECM proteins such as laminin, fibronectin, elastin, osteocalcin, and more types of collagen. In addition, cathepsin S damages the chondroitin sulfate, heparan sulfate, and proteoglycans of the BL.
The anti-aging peptides in the mask increase the level of nidogen 1 and 2, along with perlecan, ensuring that the BL is rebuild and stays intact by stimulating the formation and stabilization of the skin structure of the BL, and by neutralizing the skin-degrading enzymes which damages the BL.
