DELICATE EYES

Marianne Tromborg’s best tips for easy and natural looking eye makeup:
Our eyes are the natural focus of our face, and I usually choose to emphasise them above all else. But remember: you can get far with less and in no time. I only ever use one eyeshadow colour – I love to let the eyes do the talking and not the eyeshadow. Don’t aim to match the shade to the colour of your eyes, rather look for shades that will highlight and enhance their natural sparkle. I think it’s silly when people say that you can’t use a pearl shade when you get older – this simply isn’t true for the new formulas we have today. Mother of pearl can appear like cream and velvet when blended onto the eyelid.
Remember: multiple thin coats are better than one thick layer.
The crease is the line that marks the end of your eyelid. I almost always choose to apply eyeshadow within this line, that is on the eyelid itself. It’s the easiest and quickest approach, as the crease line almost automatically acts as an invisible barrier preventing you from applying too much. Start gradually and build up the colour, blend it into your lid, ideally with a wide, firm brush, but you can also use your index finger – and the result will be a bright, beautiful eye. Use a single colour on the entire lid and about two-thirds under the eye. You don’t need to be too careful, it’s fine for it to “smudge” a little – sharp lines are not always flattering.
